Learners will finish this class with three simple acronyms to help them remember the steps to take in a survival situation. They will have a better understanding of the dangers present in the wilderness. Finally, they will have increased confidence to get outside and connect with the natural world.

I am a Certified Wilderness First Responder through the company Remote Medical Training. This has certified me to address medical emergencies in remote settings. 

I've taught wilderness survival to a countless number of kids since 2015.

I've led wilderness survival/bushcraft camps with the company Coyle Outside in Oregon. 

I've guided wilderness backpacking and canoe trips through Camp Kooch-I-Ching in Minnesota.

I often have optional exercises for students to practice outside of class. I am always interested to hear from learners putting my lessons to use. I would love to see photos or videos of any of these skills in action so that I can give feedback.
