Articles from Newsela will be the focus of reading in each of the sessions. The article titles are listed in the sources section and also in the description of activities for each of the five sessions of the class. These articles are written at an upper elementary/middle school reading level. The instructional intent is to use these articles as tools for promoting reading comprehension using the high-interest topic of coding. A student copy of each article will be posted in the classroom prior to each session. Articles will also be posted digitally during each session. Each article contains content related to information about students learning coding skills.
