WHAM! - ライティングチャレンジ

Welcome to the WHAM! Writing Challenge. 
WHAM stands for Writing Hard All Month - meet your goal and earn your exclamation point (!).

This class is geared toward young aspiring authors who want to start writing a book - it can be their first novel or maybe they're working on their next big book project. Essentially, if they want to write a big story - novel worthy - this is the class for them.

This self-paced class has learners set a writing goal for the month (in this instance a "month" will be 4 full weeks for a total of 28 days). 

The first week of class, they can take the time to prepare to write - plot, outline, brainstorm, etc. - and set their writing goal for the month. Writing goals are focused on total word count and learners will be encouraged to figure out how many words they'd need to write a day to reach their goal (they can always reach out for help with this).

Then, at the start of the second week, they will begin the writing challenge. Each week, they'll be encourage to post their progress - how many words they've written so far - and share any challenges they've had or any positive comments to their fellow writers. 

After 4 weeks of writing, learners get to celebrate the progress they've made - even if they didn't meet their goal.

The purpose of this class isn't just to help writers get a start on their book - it's to help them increase their writing endurance, teach them about goal setting and working towards those goals, and how to reflect and adjust when they are struggling to meet their goals. They will also have to manage their time on their own and be self-motivated to do their writing. 

Throughout the class, I will always be available to provide support and encouragement - I will also be participating in the challenge and will share my progress with the class. 
At the end of the class, learners are encouraged to take their writing and continue with it, either on their own or in my young author novel writing class.
