Week 1:  Parts of the violin and bow.  Plucking (pizzicato)  on the open strings.  Words make rhythms!  Parts of the violin game.
Week 2:  Review parts of the violin and plucking open strings. Answer questions. Learn how to put your fingers on the strings.  How to hold the bow. Game:  Notes on the A String.  Bow Hold poem.
Week 3:  Review how to hold the bow. How to put fingers on the strings. Answer questions.  Pluck with fingers on the strings and bow on the open strings. Game: Notes on the E string Pluck the song, Twinkle Twinkle. 
Week 4: Review, answer any questions students had,  Pluck Twinkle Twinkle, whole song, and try playing it with the bow, too! Learn Hot Cross Buns. Review E and A string notes. Game

I have been teaching violin for 20 plus years.  I have taught private, group, community youth orchestras, and played in community orchestras.  My goal is to share my passion for the violin with my students and to instill within them a belief that they can accomplish great things if they stick with it, make it fun, and take it one step at a time.

Students will watch the weekly video and practice the new skills of the week.  They will share with the group any questions they may have, answer the weekly question and send a short video of one thing they feel they did very well that week.
