In this class we will be covering beliefs in Victorian folklore: legends, fairytales, urban legends, ghost stories, and supernatural creatures. Our stories focus primarily on England during the mid-to-late 1800s; during the reign of Queen Victoria. We will read contemporary accounts of ghosts and fairies from this period. I have a Masters degree in Early European history and I have been teaching for several years. I am also the Director of A Victorian Ghost Story Museum and I have done several lectures on the Victorian Era and its supernatural beliefs.
