However, I will be dissecting a different case for every single class, therefore students will learn new information every time they attend, and using this method on many cases will allow them to practice critical thinking on a myriad of different situations, thereby cementing this skill and technique in their mental toolbox more with every class they attend in order to practice this method.

The IRAC method is the standard of legal writing, structured to communicate logical reasoning in a precise fashion.

The key to such precise communication is to give the audience an efficient and effective argument by presenting all pertinent facts, applicable rules, and the logical framework of that argument. If all of these elements are provided, the logical conclusion should be self-evident.

An IRAC provides such a self-evident conclusion by leading the reader through the logical analysis of an argument: highlighting the legal Issues at hand, presenting the applicable legal Rules, Applying those rules to the pertinent facts at hand; and finally, yielding the logical Conclusion of the argument in question.

Learners will be encouraged to contribute their thoughts regarding what the issues are, and how to apply the rules once I demonstrate where to find them, and finally we will come to the conclusion together as a class.
