How do you keep track of your assignments? How do you motivate yourself? How can you structure your work time for optimal flow? How can you build confidence? We will discuss these questions and more, touching on the 'technical' (skills, tools) and 'adaptive' (leadership capacity) components of growing up as an author of one's life. 

This course supports and challenges participants to build the leadership capacities and technical skills necessary for working/studying in the 21st century. Because the course is based on building relationships among the group, participants will participate frequently throughout the course – participants will never be required to share but will get much more out of the course the more they share. As a shy shy kid myself, I fully understand different humans’ approaches to participating and will work with participants to accommodate different styles and preferences). 

Each session will begin by a mini-lecture on a specific topic followed by ample discussion, reflection, and activities (including simulations, games, drawing exercises, etc.). Each session will also provide reflection or “experimentation” homework, where participants apply or customize concepts from session in their own ways.

Learners can show up to class 1) willing to explore new ideas, 2) open to listening to others, and 3) willing to explore themselves.

My training in leadership and human development took place across Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Graduate School of Education (as an HKS student who obtained a master's degree). My coursework covered cognitive science of learning, research on how adolescents and adults develop and grow, and (adaptive) leadership. During my training, I often cycled between roles of teacher/educator, program/curriculum designer, and coach.
