In Typing 101, students will focus on the home row only. We will talk about finger placement, posture, and how to memorize the row of keys on the keyboard. 

Requirements: 
Students need to know the letters of the alphabet and how to type in a chat on Zoom.
Students should know "left" and "right."

Preference: 
-Working microphones - although we mostly run on mute with multiple learners
-Working cameras - I love having cameras on (when possible) to see the kids' facial expressions to check their understanding and to interact during our class by holding up items to the camera. 
-Working computer keyboard to type in chat.
-Knowledge of Zoom chat - Most of our interaction is completed through private chat, so kids feel comfortable to practice without the worry of other students seeing their practice.

Class layout:
*Intro/Expectations/Mini lesson/Use Google Slides as a visual
*Asking questions for kids to answer out loud or in a Zoom chat.
*Mini check to see if they are understanding the information
*Have them practice using the correct finger for a letter by finding and typing into the Zoom chat which is set to private.
*Brainstorming a mnemonic device to help learn the order of the keys
