This class is for beginners who have never played the trumpet, or have only been playing for a short period of time. 1 - We will assess where you are on your trumpet journey, where you want to go, and how we are going to get you there. We will also get to make a sound on the instrument! 2 - Students will learn about the importance of air flow and posture. We will begin doing some simple exercises that will get you playing with a good tone quality. 3 - You will be introduced to sheet music!...
Students will learn how to produce a sound on the trumpet, proper trumpet fingerings, how to read sheet music, and how to have a great time with the coolest instrument ever invented!
I've taught over 150 students privately, from beginning to advanced levels, between the ages of 8 and 25. I taught as a brass instructor in the public school system from 2017-2020. I graduated from California State University Northridge with a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance in 2020, and devoted an extra year of study to take all the required Music Education courses as well. I've been performing professionally since 2012, and have played in front of crowds of thousands of people.
