I will listen as the student reads so that I can give immediate feedback and practice skills. Your child does not need to be in third grade to take this class as long as they are reading at a reading level of N-P and/or a Lexile score of 660-940. All of the stories we will be reading will fall within this range. Students reading slightly above or below these scores are welcome to join. Students reading at a slightly lower level will be healthily challenged to move forward whereas students...
- Students will improve reading comprehension, reading fluency, and phonemic awareness. Students will be able to use a variety of strategies to decode words. Students will gain confidence in their reading abilities.
Amanda is a former 4th grade school teacher turned homeschool mom. She currently teaches online and tutors. She also designs curriculum and helps homeschoolers understand developmentally appropriate practices.
Students should be reading at a reading level N-P or Lexile 660-940.
A PDF of the weekly reading will be sent to you before each class. Please print the reading.
Our stories will come from Reading A-Z. You will receive a PDF copy of the story before every class. We will also project the story on the screen during class.
