Students will learn basic map skills as they interact with the story "There's a Map on My Lap!". Miss Penny will read parts of the story and showcase skills such as identifying the compass rose, the map scale, and grid lines. Students will see pictures and then have a chance to respond and practice as the story is read aloud. Students might enjoy having a paper map handy on their own lap, but it is not required.
