In this ongoing class, students will learn about a new animal each week. The students will learn about the animal's physical characteristics, habitat, diet, and some fun facts. They will engage in discussions about the animal through a vibrant slide show. They will use their new knowledge to participate in games (trivia games, guessing games, etc...) They will complete a simple craft for each animal. Some examples of animals covered are: horses, bearded dragon lizards, lovebirds, polar bears, zebras, cheetahs, clown fish, etc... Here is the breakdown of the weeks: Week of March 2: Beavers Supplies Needed: Paper A pencil and eraser Paint (we will be painting a foot!) or you can trace your foot and color it in with coloring materials. Wet wipes to clean your foot off if you will be painting. **Daylight Savings** Week of March 9: Sting rays Week of March 16: Koalas Week of March 23: Gazelles Week of March 30: Sloths Week of April 6: Horses Week of April 13: Opossums Week of April 20: Wombats Week of April 27: NO CLASS Week of May 4: Elephants Week of May 11: Hamsters Week of May 18: Budgie Birds Week of May 25: Otters Week of June 1: Naked Mole Rats Week of June 15: Snails No prior knowledge about animals is required in order to enjoy these classes. A supply list will be sent out at least one week before each class. Here are some examples of supplies you may need: Construction paper White paper Markers/colored pencils/crayons Scissors Glue (stick or liquid) Paint and paintbrushes If you are ever missing any of the materials, just let me know! There are always alternatives, or you can simply draw the animal of the week.
