This class will focus on Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem, The Raven. During the session, learners will be encouraged to think critically and reach beyond the poem’s written words. Our time together will begin with a brief welcome and introductions. We will then read the poem out loud. Finally, I will guide the students through a fun and interactive dialogue while we analyze the poem’s rhythm, meter, plot, geographical and historical setting, themes, imagery, symbolism, irony, allusion, foreshadowing, metaphors, and similes. At the conclusion of this discussion, the students should thoroughly understand the story. Students who do not feel comfortable sharing are welcome to type their comments in the chat. Our sessions always end with gratitude and positivity.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. My teaching experience has focused on coaching learners between the ages of 14 and 23 in multiple topics, including English writing, reading, and literature analysis.
Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite authors. I am deeply intrigued by his stories, which center around fear, mystery, grief, and questioning the significance of life and the possibility of life after death. My capstone paper was based on Poe’s subtle use of comedy in his tales.
