This is a book club for The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia #2) by C.S. Lewis. Each time, we will focus on 4 chapters of the book, discussing the story, learning the vocabulary and taking a comprehension quiz for the assigned chapters. Students will read assigned chapters for each class, completing the book by the end of the course. They should come ready to discuss the chapters and answer comprehension questions each week. The last two times will be spent working to create and present a book report on this book. Day 1: Introduction--meet each other, as well as intro to Narnia & author C.S. Lewis. Review vocabulary for chapters 1-4. Day 2: Students will read chapters 1-4 to be prepared for class. We will do a comprehension activity using Kahoot! on these chapters and learn vocabulary for chapters 5-9. Day 3: Comprehension activity and discussion on chapters 5-9. Review of all vocabulary studied so far & vocabulary for 10-13. Day 4: Comprehension activity and discussion on chapters 10-13. Introduce vocabulary for 14-17. Lesson on writing a Book Report, 5 paragraph essay, using a story sequence chart Day 5: Comprehension activity and discussion on chapters 14-17. Everyone reads their Book Report to the class. *Please don't hesitate to sign up! Please note that I can only run the class if there is a minimum of 3 people signed up 24 hours before the start time. Tell your friends about it! This is a fun class to take with friends.*

Students will learn vocabulary before reading the chapters, helping them to understand the book easily. The students will also be tested each week on their comprehension of the chapters, so they'll have to pay close attention to what they're reading. Finally, they will write a book report, pulling out the main ideas from the book.

This class covers vocabulary and basic comprehension of the story line and does not deal with allegorical themes.
受講に必要なもの
Students will need to obtain their own copy of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis and read or listen to it throughout the course as assigned. We use the online programs: Quizlet and Kahoot! There is no need to download these apps. A website and code will be provided. The student should either use a separate device or use the split screen feature when using Kahoot.
