We will discuss the differences between them, and how the time period that they lived shaped their choices. We will talk about standing up for our own principles and helping others. In this class we will explore the world amazing people from history. We will discuss their childhood, their influences, and what they did that left a mark on history. We will discuss the differences between them, and how the time period they lived in shaped their lives. No previous knowledge of these people or events is needed.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.
Week 1 - Johnny Appleseed - Apple stamping - Paper, Apples cut into halves, food coloring, paper Julia Child - Sandwiches Option 1 - PB and Banana Sandwich (bread, chocolate chips, peanut butter, bananas, plastic knife) or Option 2 Princess Sandwich (Bread, Jam, white buttercream frosting, food coloring, candy sprinkles, plastic knife, mixing bowls). Bob Marley - Paper and coloring supplies Week 2 - Beatrix Potter - No supplies needed (We will be writing our own story) Steve Irwin - 4-5 Toilet Paper tubes; Construction paper (green, white, black); Green markers; scissors; glue Grace Hopper - Paper and coloring supplies Week 3 - Sam Walton - Paper, writing utensil Amelia Earhart - Paper Airplanes (paper, misc supplies), scissors Jackie Robinson - Baseball Puppet (Paper plate, construction paper, markers, scissors)

The topics of racism, discrimination, and environmentalism will be discussed at an age appropriate manner. For our class on Julia Childs, we will be making a simple recipe during class. There are two options listed below (in supplies) in case of an allergy. None of these should require parental assistance. If neither of these work for you, please let me know. There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
