CLASS EXPERIENCE: MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION. This edition can be played on PC, Android, and iOS. We will NOT be using Minecraft Java Edition. AGE RANGE: This class is designed for all ages and skill levels. Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required. CLASS OVERVIEW: In this class we will be learning about the Battle of Hastings in 1066. We will bring this history to life by using the video game of Minecraft. The Battle of Hastings was a turning point in the history of England and the English language. There is a lot that happens and this class aims to explore some of the key events. We will be looking at why so many countries fought over the right to rule England. We will take a tour of a Medieval city through the game of Minecraft. We will get to see how our world was shaped by this battle in 1066. We will see the Battle of Hastings like never before! The Battle of Hastings should not just be kept in the history books.

In this lesson we will explore a Medieval city to see what life was like leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. We will come to understand the events that led up to this battle. We will how see what the outcome was and how it changed the history of England forever.

Some of the topics being discussed will involve sensitive topics, such as religion and war. This course will provide multiple viewpoints and come from a neutral standpoint. History is not always positive and this course will reflect this. The class is designed for children and is suitable for all ages.

A Minecraft account (also known as Minecraft Bedrock Edition) must be purchased by the learner. Learners will receive access to the Minecraft server address to connect to. Minecraft Java Edition will NOT work. A pair of headphones and microphone are also needed.
