In this one-time LIVE class, I have designed a delightful and interactive learning experience to teach your child how to greet and introduce themselves in Tagalog, the language spoken in the Philippines. 🇵🇭 My goal is to make the learning process enjoyable and fun for your little ones, fostering their curiosity and enthusiasm for a new language. Throughout the class, your child will be engaged with various activities, ensuring that they develop a solid foundation in Tagalog while having a great time. Here's what your learner can expect to learn in Tagalog Beginners class: 1) Greetings: We'll begin by teaching your child how to greet others in Tagalog. They'll learn common phrases like "Magandang umaga" (Good morning), "Kumusta?" (How are you?), and "Salamat" (Thank you). 2) Introducing Themselves: Your child will discover how to introduce themselves in Tagalog, including their name, age, and where they're from. We'll provide plenty of opportunities for practice and encourage their creativity as they make new friends in class. 3) Vocabulary Building: Through interactive games and exercises, your child will expand their Tagalog vocabulary with words related to family, colors, numbers, and everyday objects. We'll use colorful visuals, engaging activities and my customized flashcards to make the learning process enjoyable and memorable. (BONUS: You get to keep these digital flashcards to print or save in your device!) 4)Conversation Skills: I'll guide your child in practicing basic conversations in Tagalog. They'll gain confidence in holding simple dialogues, such as asking and answering questions about themselves and their favorite things or activities. 5) Cultural Insights: Alongside language learning, whenever possible, I always like to introduce your learner to Filipino culture and traditions, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the Philippines. We'll share stories, songs, and customs, immersing them in the rich cultural heritage of the Tagalog-speaking community. My class structure is designed in a way that offers ample opportunities for practice, ensuring that learners gain confidence in speaking Tagalog. I firmly believe that practice is key to language acquisition, and my focus is to create an environment where everyone can actively engage and participate, gain confidence, learn through mistakes all while having fun. I also emphasize the importance of interactive activities in pairs. In this setting, learners can practice greetings, introductions, and simple conversations with a fellow classmate. Pair work enables them to engage in meaningful exchanges, ask questions, and respond in Tagalog. Throughout the class, there is guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure that every learner receives individual attention and personalized assistance. I believe in creating a safe and inclusive space where students can express themselves freely, ask questions, and learn from their peers, mistakes and all. I always tell my students that they should be listening to their classmates even if it isn't their turn to speak, because they can all learn from each other. By incorporating individual, pair, and group practice, this class structure promotes a well-rounded learning experience. It allows the kids to develop their speaking and listening skills in various contexts, preparing them to confidently navigate real-life situations where they can greet others, introduce themselves, and engage in basic conversations in Tagalog. No prior Tagalog experience is required to join our Tagalog Beginners class. All children are welcome, especially those who have a love for learning a new language and a curiosity to explore the vibrant world of Tagalog. Whether your child is completely new to Tagalog or has minimal exposure to the language, this one-time class is designed to accommodate learners at various starting points. If your learner has a passion for exploring new languages and cultures, Tagalog Beginners class is the perfect opportunity for them to dive into the world of Tagalog, make new friends, and cultivate a lifelong love for our mother tongue!
