スズキピアノブック2：20週間のセメスタークラス

Intermediate students will learn progress and advance in their ability to read music via Suzuki Book 2.  In this semester of lessons, students learn sight reading, understand music dynamics, music listening/ear training and appreciation for music.  
Piano advancement requires a certain amount of commitment to daily practicing. 
We will be using the Suzuki Piano Book 2.  Using this method, students will be required to participate in class.  

As with all lessons in the program, Suzuki believes that if the student already recognizes the tune, it will be easier to learn pieces of music from the very first lesson. Hence, I ask that part of practice is listening to the pieces daily. Each week we will cover:
-sight reading
-listening (from the Suzuki channel on YouTube)
-dynamics
-I will share the music in class via screen share so students can write the notes they have trouble reading. I use the free website, SlideShare to do so.


While I do teach using the Suzuki method, I do not believe that each piece needs to be perfect before the student can move on to the next song.  I am patient. That said, students at any level should be practicing a minimum of 10 minutes per day and be prepared for lesson.   I suggest listening to the week's lesson song each night before bed or as students are falling asleep.

Please let Miss Michele know if, after a lesson or two you will need more time to finish pieces. If there are several students and everyone agrees, we can deviate from the schedule. If not, then students will be expected to move to the next piece.  Students will be expected to practice everyday outside of lessons. Also please let Miss Michele know if you are learning a particular piece for school as she will try to help with that process.
