✋ Hello Outschool Families! 🤚

Thank you for taking the time to check out 'Summer ELA Boost: Reading, Writing, and Grammar Power-Up.'

What will be taught?
In this 9-week class, learners will explore a well-structured curriculum designed to enhance elementary English Language Arts (ELA) skills. Emphasis will be placed on developing reading proficiency, comprehension, expanding vocabulary, grammar, and mastering effective writing techniques.

Topics Covered:
The course will cover key ELA skills, including reading proficiency, comprehension strategies, vocabulary expansion, grammar, and effective writing techniques. Each week will focus on a specific genre of reading, incorporating two comprehension skills – a literal strategy and a deeper comprehension strategy.

Class Structure:
The weekly schedule is divided into two days. Day one features the introduction of the week's reading genre, comprehension skills, exposure to new vocabulary, and a grammar lesson. On day two, learners revisit the text of the week, engaging in a writing activity prompted by the material.

Teaching Approach:
Each session will involve an interactive presentation using Google Slides. Learners actively participate by matching, drawing, dissecting, and writing about the concepts covered. Lessons are structured around demonstrations, prompts, and individual practice to ensure sustained engagement with the material.

Teaching Style:
The teaching style is characterized by a blend of fun, engagement, interactivity, and thought-provoking activities. The goal is to create an enjoyable and enriching learning experience.

Interaction with Learners and Peers:
Daily interaction with both content and peers is encouraged. Games and interactive slides are incorporated to promote engagement. Learners will have opportunities for discussion, collaborative activities, and participation in various interactive elements throughout each session.
