In this three-part camp, we will start by exploring various kinds of ecosystems, biomes, and ecotones. Next, we will find out how a food chain works including trophic levels, energy transfer, autotrophs, and heterotrophs. Lastly, we will learn how apex predators are often keystone species and how they keep the ecosystem running smoothly by controlling animal populations. We'll explore how trophic cascade occurred in Yellowstone National Park after its wolf population was eradicated and what happened when wolves were reintroduced.
