Welcome to my class! In this self-paced course, students will use their knowledge of letter sounds to start reading sentences and short stories on their own. The goal is to strengthen their reading skills and build on what they already know—boosting both confidence and ability along the way.

This Reading Class is ideal for students who enjoy learning at their own pace. It’s designed for learners who are working toward reading words, sentences, and short stories. Students should already know most of their letter sounds. Along the way, we’ll also begin practicing how to understand and make meaning from what we read.

Each week, we’ll focus on a new phonetic skill through recorded lessons that cover phonemic awareness, blending, spelling/dictation, and text reading. Students will also receive printable activities and enjoy interactive games tied to the weekly skill. 

All classes will be posted at the start of the course, allowing your child to learn at their own pace and review lessons as often as needed.

Each class will follow the format:

Phonemic Awareness/Sounds:  
**Students will identify, substitute, & manipulate sounds in words.  

Blending Board:
**Blending Board of words containing specific skills

Guided Spelling/Dictation:  
**Spelling words by hearing the beginning, middle, and ending sound.
**Writing sentences by counting the number of words, then hearing the sounds in each word.

Text Practice:  
**Read appropriate text, discuss tricky words as needed
