Start the year with a partial discount! KATZY4A5510 Over this class, we will read fifteen Greek myths, one for each lesson. As we read, the teacher will pause to highlight important new vocabulary words for students to learn and ask reflective questions about the characters, plot, or lessons of the story. The goal is to teach students to think reflectively and critically about the story and themselves. Afterwards, the teacher will give the students an activity to do before the next lesson based on the previous reading. This activity may be a drawing, a family tree, a pretend diary entry, etc. At the start of the next lesson, before we begin our next story, students will have a chance to share what they did for the activity. The point will be for students to actively think about the text and apply it. The schedule will proceed as follows. Week of 9/10-16/2023 -Introduction to Mythology -The gods' origin story Week of 9/17-23/2023 -Persephone's abduction to the Underworld Week of 9/24-30/2023 -The story of Arachne and Athena Week of 10/1-7/2023 -Pandora's Box Week of 10/8-14/2023 -The story of Phaethon and Apollo Week of 10/15-21/2023 -The story of Echo and Narcissus Week of 10/22-28/2023 -The tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice Week of 10/29-11/4/2023 -The story of Cupid and Psyche Week of 11/5-11/2023 -The battle between Theseus and the Minotaur Week of 11/12-18/2023 -The tragedy of Daedalus and Icarus Week of 11/19-25/2023 -The race between Atalanta and Hippomenes Week of 11/26-12/2/2023 -King Midas and the Golden Touch Week of 12/3-9/2023 -Pygmalion the Master Craftsman Week of 12/10-16/2023 -The contest of Perseus and Medusa Week of 12/17-23/2023 -Odysseus and the Trojan Horse

I have been tutoring Latin and Greek for the last five years and taught Latin in school for the last two. Having taught these subjects from elementary school to adults, I also worked for a year and a half in pre-school. My activities in class included, among other things, reading stories and teaching the children to act them out. We called this practice "Literacy to Life."
My experience in teaching and tutoring has covered a complete age range, and my goal with this course is to get young people interested in classics.レビュー
