This is a weekly class for rising 5th graders. This class is structured for learners with knowledge of 4th grade Math. Dear Parents and Caregivers - I strongly encourage growth mindset in my teaching-learning strategies. Students who persevere become geniuses. I continuously reinforce this aspect in my teaching. Please be assured that in the course of working with me - it is not just the confidence in these Math topics your child will develop independent learning skills, the importance of perseverance and eagerness to learn. Here are the list of topics students will learn and review. I will be using the whiteboard and PowerPoint to instruct the class. This will be an interactive class and the learners are highly encouraged to participate. Please find below the list of topics I will be teaching as per 5th grade Core curriculum. Please note that I may continue topics for additional classes if learners feel they need more review OR may move ahead if the learner group is able to manage the pace! Learner feedback on topics is very Welcome! Here is the weekly listing of topics - Week 1 - Improper Fractions, Mixed Fractions, Adding Fractions Subtract Fractions, Multiply Fractions, Divide Fractions Week 2 Week 2 - Decimal Place value, Add and Subtract Decimals Multiply and Divide Decimals, Exponents, Order of Operations Week 3 Week 3 - Order of Operations, Pre-Algebra Units of Measure and Conversions, Geometry - Volume, Area Week 4 Week 4 Geometry - Coordinates, Properties of shapes - Triangles and Quadrilateral Statistics: Mean, Median Mode and Range Important reminder - If your learner is the only student then I will need to transfer to 1-1 session. Also, if your learner misses a class - there are no refunds or make up as these are ongoing group classes - I hope you understand.

I am a Math teacher and intervention specialist with 12 years of experience and teach elementary, middle school and High School Mathematics.
I am a proud mom of a 8th and a 6th grader both are excellent Math learners.
I graduated in Mathematics summa cum laude. I also teach Integrated Reading and Language Arts to Grades K to 8.
Very Proud to be an Outschool teacher and build a develop this learning community!

I am a student of Brookdale Community College working on my Alternate Route to get the New Jersey Math Teacher's Certification.
My corporate experience is in Human Resources and, I have developed, designed websites for small businesses and non-profits.
I have been teaching for almost 10 years now and have taught all age levels - Seniors, Adults, High School and Elementary. I work with all different learners! Please note if you have a child who shows resistance to learning Math or needs a help due to his/her IEP, I am here to help - I work with learners on Autism Spectrum and ADHD.
I feel very happy when I teach - I have realized that there is so much contentment in giving back hence teaching is my passion.
Math is not everyone's favorite subject so I work extra harder to make it creative and interesting.
