スターウォーズの記憶力数学ゲーム！分数の入門！フォースとともにあらんことを！

In this one-time class students will take turns playing a Star Wars memory math game which will provide an introduction into correct pronunciation of fractions (e.g. one half, three fourths etc.),learning about fraction pies as well as how to understand them and the basic parts of a fraction. This class offers a way to teach the beginning concepts of fractions in a fun, relaxed kind of way. While individually taking turns to identify pairs, students will also have the opportunity to work together and help each other learn.  Each student will have multiple turns during the game and multiple games may be played as time permits. This class is great for students who love Star Wars! Students will have the opportunity to share their favorite characters and any toys or goodies they want to! May the force be with you!

My class setting is a relaxed, fun, open space for students to be able to discuss and express their thoughts about what we are learning. I encourage student interaction with not only myself but with their fellow classmates. Everyone is expected to be respectful and listen to one another but also feel like they have the ability to share their own thoughts and opinions. I believe learning should be fun and try to provide a space for that to happen.
