This class will focus on spooky storytime books just in time for the spooky season!  In this four-week ongoing class, learners will practice reading comprehension, communication, and language development while listening to cultural spooky books. We will read a new book every week followed by questions, group discussions and finally drawing and sharing with the class. Dr. Reina will start the class by reading and ask extension questions to encourage comments and elicit conversation to promote understanding. Learners will then draw their favorite part of the spooky story and share it aloud with the class. Public speaking is a skill that students will perfect during these fun lessons.  Learners will be introduced to new vocabulary words in every book (even a few words in Spanish!) to build language and fluency. 
Learners will be encouraged to draw their favorite part of the story to share after class. In addition, Dr. Reina will provide a Day of the Dead/Spooky-themed coloring sheet to print for every week as an extra bonus.

October 23rd-Week 3- Bonaparte Falls Apart by Margery Cuyler
October 29th-Week 4- The Good the Bad and the Spooky by Jory John

The course will meet for 4 weeks and repeat books again. It would be great for students to stay for all four classes, however, parents are welcome to enroll and stop subscriptions at any time.
