I often tell children, “if you can read, you can do anything”. Truth be told, to even answer a math question requires reading. Often when a child cannot read well, they become overwhelmed and may act out or withdraw. 

This is a one-time class to help you decide if your child and I are a good fit for ongoing reading, writing, and spelling tutoring. It also gives me an opportunity to note your child's reading level. It is helpful for your child to bring a book or homework assignment they are currently working on to this class. After this completed lesson you can choose to enroll in additional reading tutoring classes in an ongoing one on one format. 

In this class, we will focus on reading passages along with comprehension, writing sentences and paragraphs, and vocabulary. We will also talk about language arts topics such as nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.
