What will be taught?
In this engaging and interactive class, older learners will strengthen their spelling skills by focusing on phonics-based spelling patterns and sight words. Each session will introduce a new spelling rule, pattern, or group of sight words, followed by fun activities to help students practice spelling, recognizing word structures, and improving their writing confidence.

What topics will you cover?
   * Phonics-based spelling patterns (silent e, blends, digraphs, etc.)
   * Commonly used sight words and tricky spellings
   * Spelling rules and strategies to improve accuracy
   * Breaking words into syllables for easier spelling
   * Fun and interactive activities to reinforce learning
   * Games and challenges to build confidence and retention

How is your class structured?
   * Each class follows a structured but engaging format:
          - Welcome
          - Introduction of the Spelling Pattern or Sight Words (5 minutes): Using visual aids and interactive slides, we will introduce the featured spelling rule or word list.
          - Practice & Activities: word-building and spelling drills, fun spelling games and challenges, activities to break down tricky words into manageable parts, writing practice with creative spelling exercises
          - Wrap-up & Review: a closing game or mini-challenge to review the words we learned.

How will I teach?
   * This class is highly interactive, using a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles:
          - Visual & Auditory: colorful slides, chants, and songs to reinforce phonics patterns.
          - Kinesthetic & Hands-on: movement-based learning, tracing/finger-tracing, and interactive word-building.
          - Engaging & Playful: games and challenges that make learning fun and exciting.
