スペイン語ストーリー創作キャンプ！

Who is this class for?
This class is for beginner to intermediate learners of Spanish who would like to work on speaking, writing, and reading skills. 
Lesson Objectives:
The purpose of this camp is to help students increase language proficiency in a contextualized setting. Students will learn how to describe characters (physical characteristics, personality traits, and more!), talk/write about the plot of a story, and learn vocabulary pertaining to the story (vocabulary covered will depend on what the story is about as determined by the students).

Class Structure
All sessions will be in the target language so students get as much language exposure and opportunity to practice speaking as possible. 
Session 1: Story creation
In the first session we will start by creating a character or characters. I will guide students as they determine who the character of the story is. I will incorporate a technique called “story-asking” where I will ask students a series of questions to guide them in designing a character. This is a great opportunity for students to have fun and be creative while using the target language!
Example: Is it a human or an animal? Big or small? Short or tall? 

Session 2-3: Plot development
In these sessions we will be getting into the meat of the story.  I will again incorporate “story-asking” techniques as the students determine where the character lives, and what problems the character will face in the story. 
The sessions will be conversation focused as students work to determine the plot points of the story. Story-telling learning strategies will used as I guide the conversation. I will also incorporate story-telling games/activities to help students memorize story details, vocabulary, and verb structures. 

Session 4-6: Follow-up activities & Story Writing
Now that students have developed a comprehensive story, we will begin story-writing in order to practice writing skills and reinforce grammar concepts. Students will be asked to create and share alternate endings to the story, and I will do a comprehensive review of grammar concepts, vocabulary, and conversation skills. Students will also complete story-editing activities in order to learn how to spot grammatical errors.
