**Class Overview:**

In this 4-week *Songs and Scenes* class, kids ages 9-13 will dive deep into the music, characters, and iconic scenes from the Broadway musical *Wicked*. This class is designed to be fun, interactive, and flexible, allowing young performers to explore the world of Oz through weekly pre-recorded videos, homework assignments, and engaging activities.

**What Will Be Taught?**

- **Music**: Each week, students will focus on a specific song from *Wicked*, learning the lyrics, melody, and emotional depth behind the music. They’ll practice singing techniques and vocal performance, and explore the musical themes of each piece.

- **Scenes**: Students will also study key scenes from *Wicked*, understanding the characters' motivations, emotions, and relationships. They'll engage in acting exercises to bring these scenes to life.

- **Broadway Basics**: Along the way, students will learn about the basics of musical theater, from vocal warm-ups to acting tips and the importance of stage presence.

**Class Structure:**

The class will be delivered through 4 weekly pre-recorded video lessons, with each lesson focusing on a specific song and scene from *Wicked*.

Each week will include:
- **Singing & Acting Practice**: Guided lessons on how to sing and perform key songs, along with tips on acting through song.
- **Scene Work**: Activities focused on acting out scenes from the musical.
- **Trivia & Fun Facts**: Engaging quizzes and trivia to help kids learn more about *Wicked* and musical theater.
- **Homework**: Each week will include a fun and manageable assignment, including singing and acting tasks.

**Teaching Style & Method:**

My teaching style is interactive, encouraging students to be creative while building confidence. Each video lesson will include a mix of explanation, demonstration, and fun exercises, with clear instructions that are easy to follow. I’ll guide students step-by-step, ensuring they feel supported as they practice singing and acting.

**Student Interaction:**

Though this is a pre-recorded class, I encourage plenty of self-expression and interaction with the material. Students will be able to engage in weekly tasks, share their progress (via a parent or guardian if desired), and reflect on what they've learned through a short quiz or trivia.

I also invite students to ask questions in their weekly check-ins, offering personalized feedback on their performances. The trivia and scene work will allow them to interact with their peers or family members, sparking discussions about the songs and characters from *Wicked*.

By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of musical theater and will feel more confident performing and singing.
