In this engaging Socratic Seminar, designed specifically for middle school students, we'll explore thought-provoking topics that challenge students to think critically, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Rooted in Montessori principles, this class encourages adolescents to develop their independent thinking and communication skills through guided discussions on philosophy, ethics, and current events. The class is structured around interactive discussions where students are encouraged to ask questions and explore ideas collaboratively. Each session will include a brief introduction to the topic, followed by group discussions and individual reflections.

Guidance will involve a mix of direct instruction and interactive methods. We’ll use slides and video clips to introduce key concepts, and employ games and activities to deepen understanding. The primary focus will be on dialogue and student-led inquiry.
