In this fun and entertaining class that meets live once each week, learners will explore different themes of social studies including history, geography, economics, and civics (government).

Along with the live class, students will receive a homework packet at the beginning of the week on Monday to complement the live classes. Homework will include a reading passage along with various forms of questions (short answer, fill-in-the-blank, multiple-choice, etc.). Web quests, draw-its, and other creative assignments will also be included some week. A weekly Kahoot! quiz game will accompany the homework assignments where students can put their knowledge to the test!

Learners will also have two projects each semester to complete. The projects will focus on a specific subject we are learning about in the live class. The first project is all about maps. Learners will create a map using their choice of medium. The second project gives involves learners creating a project that helps the environment, such as setting up a recycling bin at home or finding a way to reuse something that would be thrown away. Learners will have the chance to present their projects to the class!

Live classes will include storytelling, slides, discussions, games, and lots of interaction with classmates.
