このクラスで学べること
In this class, we aim to enhance creativity, problem-solving, self-direction, collaboration, and other life skills while building towards a goal. Beginner to advanced students learns how to think critically about their work with the infinite possibilities of the game. I will be keeping this club as student-led as possible, it will not include teacher-led builds. Each week will be student-led, meaning what we do in each class will be based on what learners have suggested! There will be plenty of time to talk and share ideas while being creative in this fun and interactive social class! We will begin each class with a brief discussion about what we would like to focus on for that class, followed by a time to be creative and socialize. The last few minutes will be for sharing each other's creations and celebrating all that has been learned during our session. There will be times where students will be free to do what they want in the game, whether that's to defeat the Enderdragon or just search for villages. The point of this class is to create a social setting in a positive place. I wanted to have a time for students to connect with peers and enhance creativity, problem-solving, self-direction, teamwork, and other life skills. An example schedule: Week 1 - A Famous Building - Try building your version of any famous building or come up with your own! What unforgettable designs will you use to make your tower monument go down in history? Week 2 - A Tree House - Find a jungle biome. And build. It’s that easy. Get creative when it comes to stairways, passageways, and more. Soon your little treehouse will become a tree village. Week 3 - Maze - Mazes can easily be built out of leaves or hedges and placed into a garden. They can also be made underground or inside buildings. For more fun, consider adding traps and surprises using pistons like drops, changing walls, and dispensers shooting arrows. Don’t forget the reward chest at the end of the maze! Week 4 - Survival Skills! Week 5 - Students' choice. Students are welcome to show the class all the cool things they have created throughout the week by holding the device up to the screen for all to see. I will be keeping this club as student-led as possible. It will not include teacher-led builds. This social group uses Minecraft to help kids connect and communicate with each other as they create their fantasy worlds. If you choose to work with other students in their worlds or realms parental approval is recommended. Students must also be signed into their Microsoft accounts, or Xbox live account, to join a world. Not all game systems will connect with other words. That is ok and students are still able to work on solo projects and still join in on the Zoom discussion. Each class will be different builders can join one class or come when they can! I look forward to seeing all the creative ideas and hearing all about the cool stuff you have discovered! ** Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved or associated with Mojang.

You do not need to have Minecraft with you, but if you would like to share something you have made already in Minecraft, then you are welcome to bring it with you to class. If your learner plan to join the teacher's world, Learners will need another device with Minecraft Creative Mode to use during class time as well as access to Zoom. A device such as tablet and Minecraft Bedrock Edition (Please note, Minecraft Bedrock edition can be played across multiple platforms such as tablets, PC, and game systems) IN ADDITION TO THE SOFTWARE, your student will need an Xbox Live account to join worlds with their peers. When you open Minecraft, just click on the “Sign In” button, and you will be prompted to create the account(s) you need. Some platforms require an additional account to access online games, such as Nintendo Online and Xbox Live Gold. NOTE: Students MUST have an Xbox Live gamertag for online cross-platform play.
