If you love to sing, make music and love unicorns you will love this class. This class will be filled with rainbows, unicorns and musical, magical fun. We will learn songs about unicorns and the music alphabet all to familiar tunes. We will use instruments (everything in your kitchen cupboard) to help us keep a beat. If you have a special unicorn please bring it to share with the class and we will even sing a special song to our unicorns. My teaching style is enthusiastic and kind. No previous music experience is needed, just come join the sparkly, magical, musical fun! Songs included will be: I Love My Unicorn Grand Old Unicorn Sleep My Unicorn The Music Alphabet

If you have rhythm instruments great but if you don’t the following will make music-making even more fun: Sticks - wooden spoons or spatulas, anything you can tap together Shakers - small container filled with rice, beans or popcorn kernels Drum - plastic container with a round bottom Scarf - fashion or tea towel - for this class the more colourful the better! Unicorn Stuffie (if you have one, but not required)

Hello prospective parents and guardians! My name is Mrs. Carol. I live in Canada.
I have my B.A. in music specifically Vocal, as well as ORFF (rhythmic based method of teaching music) training. I have been teaching music for 25+ years. I have created and taught an early years music program in Montessori schools. I have taught voice, piano, early childhood music in my own studio, as well as teaching for several summers at a symphony music camp teaching the ORFF method.
Studies have shown that engaging in music classes from a young age can make you smarter in reading and math! Early years music classes can set you up to learn an instrument, but even more than that it can set you up for a life long love and appreciation for music.
Through singing, simple instruments (don’t worry, your kitchen cupboard has all you need for class) and movement, your child will learn skills such as listening, focusing, taking turns and all the while having a whole lot of “hands-on” fun making music.
My classes will be engaging, inclusive and will aim to ignite the JOY of music-making. I will be using the curriculum Smarty Pants Music that I created after teaching young children for many years.
My husband, who is also musical, and I have been married for 34 years. We have a daughter and son-in-law and I am a proud “Mammie” to 2 exceptional, beautiful grandchildren, Amos and Anna.
I hope to see your child in my classes so that we can Ignite Joy, Get Smarter and Make Music together!
