This is a 4-week ukulele class for children wanting to learn how to play the ukulele. As a music instructor for 20 years, I am always sure to create personal classes, meeting the needs of each student and giving each musician time to play.
We will begin with the basics for absolute beginners, the parts of the ukulele, how to tune using a tuner or app, how to hold the instrument, and where our hands are placed. We will move on to learning the four primary chords [C, G, F and Am], switching between chords, and using some fun exercises to work on rhythms and strumming patterns. Each class will include simple songs, I will send the chords and music to students so they can play at home. Students will be given personalized pointers and tips for practicing in order to make their learning experience more profitable in the long term. My goal with these classes is to create a relaxed, fun class where students will be encouraged to play each new concept, questions are encouraged and I will include each student when asking questions.  Music is supposed to be joyful, and learning is easier when students are having fun. I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!

Class 1: Intro to the Ukulele, how to tune, how to strum with different rhythms, naming the strings, and our first chord!
Class 2: Reviewing names of strings and our first chord, adding more chords to create our first song!
Class 3: Playing our first song together and showing the class (voluntarily), a new chord, learning how to add more rhythms and reading notes
Class 4: Learning a new song, new strumming, playing for the class (voluntarily), and "what's next with the ukulele?"
