週あたり 2-4 時間. Each block includes optional homework assignments shared at the start of the block. These assignments are designed to help your child master key concepts and deepen their understanding. While not required, we recommend completing them for the best learning experience. If your child submits their homework, their teacher will provide feedback.テスト
We believe in continuous feedback. Instead of focusing solely on end-of-unit tests, we use ongoing formative assessments. These could be interactive activities, short responses, or even lively discussions. This approach allows us to celebrate progress, catch misunderstandings early on, and adjust our teaching to support each student's individual learning journey.この文章は自動翻訳されています

Welcome to sixth grade—a year of exploration, discovery, and growth! We’ve carefully designed this curriculum to align with Waldorf principles while incorporating Common Core standards. Your child will develop into a confident, independent thinker through our engaging, block-based learning approach. By focusing on one subject at a time, they will make meaningful connections, absorb concepts fully, and build a strong academic foundation. Most Thursdays, they will also enjoy a wet-on-wet watercolor painting session, giving them a peaceful and creative way to end the week. How Does Block-Based Learning Work? Instead of jumping between multiple subjects each day, your child will focus on one theme for 3–4 weeks. This structure simplifies their daily routine, reduces mental overload, and allows them to develop a deeper understanding of each subject. What Will Your Child Learn? ⦿ Ancient History: The Rise and Fall of Rome (4 weeks) Your child will explore Rome’s mythology, government, daily life, technological advancements, and the lasting influence of this powerful civilization on our world today. ⦿ Mathematics: Geometric Drawing & Measurement (4 weeks) Through hands-on geometric constructions, your child will learn to measure shapes accurately, understand geometric relationships, and apply these skills creatively in both math and art. ⦿ Astronomy: Exploring the Cosmos (3 weeks) Your child will study constellations, planetary movements, historical astronomers, and modern space exploration, expanding their understanding of the universe. ⦿ World History: Life in the Middle Ages (4 weeks) This block will take your child on a journey through feudal society, religious traditions, cultural practices, and key historical figures who shaped medieval history. ⦿ Mathematics: Real-World Business Skills (3 weeks) Your child will gain practical skills in trade, banking, budgeting, percentages, and financial decision-making—valuable knowledge they can apply in everyday life. ⦿ Physics: Sound, Light, Magnetism, and Heat (4 weeks) In this block your child will explore key physics concepts, including sound waves, light properties, magnetic forces, and heat transfer. ⦿ Earth Science: Geology and Mineralogy (4 weeks) This block will introduce your child to mineral identification, geological history, advanced plate tectonics, and the human impact on Earth’s geology. ⦿ World Geography: Continents, Trade, and Cultural Exchange (3 weeks) Your child will explore the continents, historical trade routes, and the rich cultural traditions of Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. ⦿ Visual Arts: Drawing from Life and Cultural Traditions (4 weeks) Your child will develop advanced drawing techniques inspired by nature, the human figure, and global artistic traditions, using mixed media to create meaningful artwork. ⦿ Creative Writing & Literature: The Art of Fantasy World-Building (3 weeks) This block will guide your child in creating their own fantasy world, complete with maps, myths, detailed characters, and imaginative storytelling. For a detailed breakdown of each block, please refer to the syllabus below. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out—we're happy to help! Late Enrollment? No Problem! Your child can join at any time! Our curriculum is designed for easy transitions, so they can integrate smoothly into the current block. Click the ‘Ask a Question’ button to learn more. Note: Our curriculum explores history and cultures from around the world.
