このクラスで学べること
In this interactive course, young learners will be introduced to the concept of adding objects together in order to have a total that is "more" than what they started with. We will be using numbers to introduce our young mathematicians to notation as we count and add various objects to our collections. Session 1: One to one correspondence, introducing the concept of more and less, writing numbers 1-10 Session 2: Adding to our collection! Learners will add to their collections of snacks so that the total number is greater. Then we can eat! Session 3: Using the addition sign to notate our thinking is faster than writing out what we are thinking with words. Session 4: I can write an addition algorithm all by myself!

Session One: A collection of some sort ( legos, dinosaurs, cotton balls, etc.) Must have at least 20. Session Two: A snack of some sort: I recommend marshmallows, pretzels, fruit snacks, or any other that you want! Session Three: Materials will be provided for you. Session Four: Materials will be provided for you.

I have over 13 years experience in the classroom and 2 years teaching English online. I have gained numerous insights and experiences over the years that influence the effective teaching strategies that will achieve the best outcome for students. My favorite things to teach are reading comprehension, phonics, speaking, and financial/ budgeting classes for all ages!
I have 3 teenage sons and have been happily married for 25 years! I recently stepped away from the brick and mortar classroom to home school my youngest son. What an experience!
I am passionate about teaching and giving children an opportunity to learn without bias in authentic ways. I can't wait to meet you!
