このクラスで学べること
In this class, we will explore the ways in which we can use our imaginations to create magical characters. We will learn how to read through the text and understand what our character is saying and then we will use movement to emphasize the meaning. We will begin class by warming up 'The Actors Toolbox'- bodies, voices, and imagination. We will then read through the chosen text and discuss Shakespeare's use of language in the text and how it may impact movement. After reading through the scene, we will then put the scene on its feet, adding staging to see how we can develop the characters utilizing the Laban Movement technique.

Students will gain an understanding of the text used in Shakespeare's Macbeth and begin to explore the ways in which we can use our imaginations while creating characters.

I am a Sacramento-based theatre artist with experience teaching Shakespeare, acting, playwriting, devised movement, and storytelling. In 2017 I graduated from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with a BA (Honors) in Drama, Applied Theatre, and Education.
After graduating I returnted to Sacramento to begin my career as a teaching artist with B Street Theatre and Marin Shakespeare Company, as well as co-founding Wildflower Women’s Ensemble an all female Shakespeare ensemble where I serve as Education Director. My approach in the classroom is to encourage each performer to be seen and discover their creative light. Class should be an environment where we are able to learn, have fun, and engage with the lesson. I expect every student to be ready to participate, respect each other in the classroom, and being open.
