Welcome to the Sew Mini: Pre-Skills prerequisite class. This is a self-paced pre-recorded class that includes 6 short lessons to ensure you are prepared for the Sew Mini: Hand Sewn Felt Creations Since this class is pre-recorded and self-paced, students can move at their own speed. You can finish all lessons in a day if you would like. Please note that you will not be able to join the live class until you have finished this one. Once you have completed this class you are ready to join Sew Mini: Hand Sewn Felt Creations where we will meet weekly to create adorable felt food, animals, ornaments, bookmarks, and more.

Supplies
We will go over all the materials needed, the different options to choose from and optional supplies you can get. It is reccomend to wait until you watch lesson 1 to buy your supplies. 6 分のビデオレッスン

Patterns
We will go over how to print your pattern and cut it out. Then we will go over how to trace your pattern onto your felt. 5 分のビデオレッスン

Needles & Thread
We will cover how to choose the right needle, how pull your embroidery thread from the skeins, how to seperate threads, how to wrap your thread onto a bobbin (optional), and how to thread your needle with and without the help of a needle threader. 6 分のビデオレッスン
レッスン 4:
Embroidery Stitches
This class uses 4 basic stitches. We will go over each stitch. How to start them and finish them. Students will have to opportunity to practice them durring the lesson and on their own. This is a sewing class, so students will be using needles and pins which can be sharp. If you foresee this being an issue, there are more blunt style embroidery needles that can be used. There are also rubber finger thimbles which can help reduce the chances of getting poked. You can also opt for plastic clips instead of pins.

Students will need the following: Felt sheets in different colors Access to a printer Tracing tool like fabric chalk or pen Scissors Embroidery needle Embroidery thread Pins or clips Polyfill or other type of stuffing Needle threader (optional) Stuffing tool (optional) Ruler (optional) Sewing mat or craft mat (optional) Embroidery floss bobbins & stickers (optional) Lesson 1 in this class is for materials. I will go over all the materials needed, the different options to choose from and optional supplies you can get. It is reccomend to wait until you watch lesson 1 to buy your supplies.

Hi, my name is Ms. Sam and I'm so glad you are here. I designed this class as a fun way to introduce sewing skills to kids. As a child I spent a lot of time with my grandmother who taught me how to sew, quilt, and embroider. This hobby holds a special place in my heart, and it is something I have continued to do into adulthood. I have taught kids from as young as 5 how to sew, I am so excited to share the skills I have honed over the years with the next generation and help create a love for sewing.
