Fun & Engaging 2nd Grade Homeschool Class: Explore, Learn & Grow!  Welcome to a interactive, and exciting learning experience for your second grader! In this class, we’ll dive into a wide range of topics that spark curiosity, develop essential skills, and build a love for learning. Whether your child is a math whiz, a budding reader, or an explorer at heart, this class is designed to help them grow in all areas!

What We’ll Cover:

🍏 Math Adventures: From addition and subtraction to multiplication and basic geometry, we'll make math fun with games, activities, and creative challenges. Your child will gain confidence in their math skills through engaging, real-world examples as well as manipulative that make learning meaningful. Lessons formed from math u see curriculum.  Worksheets will be provided for practice. Students can use manipulative from home if parents wish.  These can be purchased or students can use common household items for math.

🍎Reading & Writing: Your child will discover the joy of reading with fun, interactive stories and activities. We’ll practice comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency, and encourage your child to express their ideas with creative writing prompts and projects.  Curriculum derived from HMH Journey's Reading Units.

🍏 Science Exploration: viewing hands-on experiments and nature studies will help your child build an understanding of basic science concepts like ecosystems, weather, and the life cycle. Expect some fun projects and maybe even a few “wow” moments!  Science journals are kept.  We use in depth science units to explore scientific principles and process.

🍎 Social Studies, Skills & Creativity: Through group discussions, arts and crafts, and collaborative projects, your child will strengthen their social skills and unleash their creativity. They'll work on problem-solving, teamwork, and self-expression in a supportive and encouraging environment.
This is a great way for your student to meet friends and have a consistent teacher and fellow classmates throughout the year. 

Class Structure:

📚Assessment: Initial evaluation to understand students' prior knowledge and skill levels.
Helps in tailoring the course content and lessons to fit the needs of the students.

📚Goals: Set clear, achievable objectives for the course.
Provide students with a roadmap of what they will learn and accomplish.
Outline both short-term and long-term learning outcomes.

📚Lessons: Breakdown of key topics and concepts.
Structured, engaging lessons to help students understand and master the material.

  Students will follow set process and routines appropriate for second grade.  We will focus on: 

Day 1 Language Arts
Day 2 Science
Day 3 Math
Day 4 Social Studies

Assignments: 
At the beginning of the week I post assignments.  These review skills objective and practice that pair well with the classes and objectives.
