In this interactive scholarship essay writing course, students will learn essential skills to create powerful, winning scholarship essays that stand out. We’ll cover a range of topics including brainstorming compelling essay ideas, structuring essays effectively, showcasing personal strengths and achievements, and using storytelling techniques to create an emotional impact. The course is structured into a series of lessons that build from brainstorming to drafting and editing, with each session focused on specific writing strategies. Students will engage in hands-on activities, guided discussions, and receive individualized feedback on their work. My teaching style is supportive and engaging, with a mix of direct instruction, interactive learning, slides, and video examples of successful essays. Students will have ample opportunities to ask questions, participate in group discussions, and receive one-on-one guidance. Understanding Scholarship Essays & Finding Your Story
In this introductory session, students will learn what makes scholarship essays unique and why personal stories are so powerful. We’ll explore key themes scholarship committees value, then dive into brainstorming activities to help students uncover their unique strengths, experiences, and goals. By the end of the lesson, each student will have identified a personal story they can use as the foundation for their essay.
