Is your student ready to take their math skills to the next level? This class is designed to challenge students and build their confidence in math while introducing them to concepts they’ll encounter in the SAT/ACT exams as well as future math courses. The SAT/ACT tests are important for future college admissions prospects and like all math classes, focuses on a specific generalization of particular niche topics. These exams are not necessarily a reflection of mathematical skills but rather a combination of various factors such as (1) test taking comfortability and (2) familiarity of the specific topics. By giving students an overview of the general topics covered by these exams, we can provide a strong foundation for classes covered in high school. Each math class is different, a geometry class in California focuses on a completely different structure and style than a geometry class in New York, as well as general education vs honors vs AP. My focus is to provide students with tangible skills that serve them as tools of reference of logic which carry the logic for problems that follow a similar pattern. I always try to remind my students “math is supposed to make sense” and if they have a strong foundation of the laws this can lay the foundation for a genuine ability to use mathematics as a tool rather than a source of mystery. Each class session focuses on understanding the "why" behind the math, not just the "how." I carefully explain every problem, walking students through the reasoning step by step to ensure clarity and comprehension. Whether we’re reviewing concepts or tackling new ones, the goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies that they can continue to use in their academic journey. Using real SAT and ACT practice questions, this class provides a glimpse of the types of math students will see in high school and on standardized tests. It’s not just about preparation—it’s about making connections, sparking curiosity, and encouraging students to approach challenges with confidence. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of math concepts, a stronger foundation for future learning, and the confidence to tackle advanced problems with ease. This class is not only an opportunity to improve skills but also a chance to discover the joy of exploring math at a higher level. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or requests for accommodations. I look forward to helping your student achieve their academic success! Students are welcome to join the class at any time!

教師の専門知識と資格
I have extensive experience tutoring high school-level math, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus, working with students to master challenging concepts and build confidence in their problem-solving abilities. Over the years, I’ve guided students through rigorous coursework, prepared them for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT, and helped them achieve measurable academic growth by breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps.
In addition to high school math, I’ve had the privilege of working in person with students across grades K–8 and 8–12, tailoring my teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners at different stages of their academic journeys. For younger students, I focus on foundational skills such as number sense, basic operations, and introductory geometry, fostering a strong base for future math success. With older students, I emphasize analytical thinking and advanced problem-solving, connecting abstract concepts to real-world applications to make learning engaging and meaningful.
This hands-on experience has helped me develop a teaching style that is patient, adaptable, and student-focused. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I take pride in meeting students where they are and helping them reach their full potential in mathematics.
