The math portion of the SAT tests a student's "test taking skills" as much (if not more) than it tests their knowledge of math. Good math students with all As in math still can do poorly on the SAT. - Increasing test scores significantly takes a lot of practice and effort. My goal for this class is to give students some additional tools to use on the SAT so that they feel more confident going into the test and have some tips to help them improve their score.
I have successfully taught Pre-Algebra through Algebra 2 for over 30 years in public schools, on online platforms, and at homeschool co-ops. I have been studying the SAT math sections since my home state of Michigan announced they planned to use the SAT as a high school assessment in 2015. Since 2016, I have taught students how to approach the SAT math sections.
