This fast blast program aims to bolster students' confidence and competence, so they can feel more prepared to tackle the SAT and begin to plan some areas to focus on in with their future preparation and practices. We will introduce students to the topics covered on the SAT test, review important concepts, refine critical analysis skills and test-taking techniques. This class is dedicated primarily to working through practice problems in the wording and format of the SAT test.
8 lessons//2 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Math Day 1Introducing topics covered on SAT Math. Practice will focus on Algebra material.Lesson 2Reading Day 1Strategy for working through the reading section. How to be efficient with timing and to read questions carefully.Lesson 3Math Day 2Practice questions will focus on Geometry material.Lesson 4Reading Day 2Using strategy from Day 1 on additional practice problems.Week 2Lesson 5Math Day 3Statistical and data analysis questions will be the focus of this lesson, but we will also briefly look at a few challenge questions or topics outside of the typical Algebra/Geometry material.Lesson 6Reading & Language Day 3Types of questions in reading & language section other than typical comprehension questions.Lesson 7Math Day 4This will be a mixed review session with practice questions from all of the previous topics.Lesson 8Reading & Language Day 4Practice implementing all of previously learned techniques. End portion of the class will have typical SAT grammar questions as well.
- Student will learn what topics they are expected to know when taking the SAT.
- Student will learn common SAT question format and wording.
- Student will be able to use strategies to improve their SAT performance.
- Student will be prepared to identify areas they need further review on before taking the SAT.
We have been tutoring the concepts covered on the SAT for many years and have run several longer SAT Preparation courses. Kicking off preparations with a shorter term class, helps students get familiar with the format of SAT questions and identify what they need to focus on/work on with future study efforts, all while not taking too much time from their already busy schedules!

This will be covering SAT math topics, so students should have completed at least Algebra 1 and Geometry, or be enrolled in them at their school currently. If your child has not completed these, we suggest one of our PSAT classes instead.
Dedicated folder or notebook for SAT study materials must be used, to keep practice notes organized and make sure students can access their notes if they want to use them for future reference.
