Looking for a one-on-one or private small group class? We can help with that!
Please click the "Request a Private Class" link above and send the details of your request including date, time, and number of learners. For private one-on-one classes, our rate is $1 per minute per week. If you have a small group, please message us with the number of learners you have lined up, and we will let you know the weekly rate!
--------
Let’s focus in on the language, grammar, and conventions of standard English to help demystify these questions on college entrance exams!

In this class, we'll work through a practice SAT Writing & Language or ACT English passage, starting with a micro-lesson or two over a concept hit on in the passage. Each and every question will get a full answer explanation! Several topics will be hit on each week, with great variety. Many grammar, writing, and language concepts are covered on these exams, so we will hit on as many of them as we can!

The class format covers the micro-lessons in the beginning of the class, and then we drive into the practice passage one question at a time. We'll present the question and the section of the passage to which it relates, and have students test their skills by privately responding to the question for the teacher. Then, the teacher will reveal the correct answer and fully explain why the answer is what it is (as well as why the other options were not the correct answer).

As this is an ongoing class, feel free to join at any time, or just drop in for the week that you need!

Brittney Shaw
Hi! My name is Brittney. I received my Associates Degree in Elementary Education and my Bachelors Degree in English. I love working with kids and have experience with all ages. I have been teaching online for three years now.

I am a wife and mother of four, ages 9, 6, 4, and 1, and the oldest of eight. Prior to teaching I worked in various areas of childcare. I also have experience with children with speech delays, autism, and ADHD. Previously I have worked as a classroom volunteer and ESL instructor.

My teaching philosophy is that every child is different and my job is to make sure to embrace those differences to make the education experience the best for all the children. I also want to make sure I do my best to foster a love of reading in my students because, "if you can read, you can do anything!"

Qualifications:
-Associates in Elementary Education
-Bachelors in English
-Former ESL instructor
-Experience with all ages
-Three years teaching online
