Learners will use the popular game "Roblox" to practice basic math skills. They will use the interactive game to add, subtract and multiply. This will be a fun and social way for kids to work on their skills. An experienced tutor will be there to facilitate the class and answer any questions. Students will log in using their user names and can choose to screen share with their teacher or friends. A log in will be required and should be established before class begins. Please send a friend request to MzMarianna on the platform. On the day of class, students will be led to join the proper game for the day. Students will have the opportunity to earn points for the correct answers, helping others, and their efforts. These points can be used to earn Robux by the end of our camp.

Students will improve their foundational math skills through interactive play. They will watch a video which explains the day's lesson and then join the Roblox platform to practice the days skill. Skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fraction questions.
The lesson includes math word problems and the CUBES strategy for solving word problems. We will then practice with games such as restaurant tycoon, millionaire tycoon, math obby, math block race, and math difficulty chart obby which show children the connection between math learned and real world application.

I have a Master of Science degree in Psychology specializing in child and adolescent development. My training includes Orton Gillingham and Barton tutoring for math and reading subjects. My area of expertise is ADHD and special needs tutoring, specifically for neurodivergent, autistic, and homeschooled students.
