Hi! Welcome to Roblox Coding for Beginners! This is a flex class with no live meetings. I often hear students say, "I want to learn the basics of coding." This class is designed to teach students the absolute basics of coding in Roblox Studio. This is a flex class designed to teach the basics of coding to students with ZERO experience. I assume you have never used Roblox Studio and I assume you are new to coding. This class is for total beginners that want to learn about coding. Roblox games can be made entirely without code. This class is meant for students that want to learn how to make roblox games WITH code. This is a CODING class. This is about learning the Roblox Lua computer language. Students will be typing code and learning about computer programming. Students are responsible for typing their own code, so students must be comfortable typing. This is a project-based class. Students will learn the basics of coding by creating a BASIC obby game. This class has a specific curriculum and shows students step by step how to create the game. By the end of the course, students will have a basic game to publish, share, and play with their friends with code they wrote themselves. The course contains approximately 15 hours of content. Week 1: Setting up Roblox Studio Adding parts Introducing script and output Using code to change the properties of parts Introduction to variables Week 2: Introduction to variables (continued) Introduction to functions. Using functions and events to cause things to happen at a certain time. Week 3: Functions (continued) This week focuses on functions, both named and anonymous, and how both styles are useful to coding. Week 4: This week is about if statements, for loops, and while loops in code. Basic GUI design with code Students are welcome to publish their game and test it on Roblox once their project is complete (optional). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Class structure: This is a flex class. Information is posted in the classroom. How I teach: I teach through interactive videos and walkthroughs. The walkthroughs are meant to explain how and why the code works. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intermediate and Advanced topics are not covered in this class. Topics unrelated to the project are not covered in this class. This is just the basics to help students get started with coding in Roblox.

Hi!
My name is Miss Jennifer. I enjoy teaching coding and video game design. It is a joy to be able to teach what I love to do.
My coding classes are both fun and educational, focusing on fundamental programming skills that have real-world applications. Even if your interest in Roblox or game design fades, the knowledge you gain will remain valuable and useful in any field you pursue.
I am also an event organizer, and I have run a few virtual gaming tournaments here on Outschool. If you have any ideas for other tournaments I should create in the future, let me know.
Roblox is not just something I teach. I LOVE Roblox! When I am not teaching, I am on Roblox just like you. I play ERLC, Pls Donate, Dandy's World, Bladeball, Berry Ave., Strongest Battlegrounds, Dress to Impress, and Elemental Grounds. Recently, I started playing Fisch and Pressure.
I have taught over 3,500 students here on Outschool how to code and create their own games. I hope to see you in my classes soon!

About me:
I was born and raised in Westchester County, New York. I now live in Nevada (Pacific Standard Time Zone). I have always enjoyed technology. When I was a kid, I would take electronics apart and often would break them in the process, which my parents were not too happy about haha. "The machine is for homework ONLY!" Apparently the family computer could not run without a CPU. Who knew? HAHA.
As a kid, I would read my aunt's medical books and write what I found in C programming.
