Through guided practice and immediate feedback, students will master songs in the "Recorder Karate 1" instructional book.  Learners will play these songs to improve in their ability to read music and their ability to play more recorder notes and use recorder techniques.  

I have taught both instrumental and vocal music to students of all ages since 1991.  I have taught recorder since 2017.  I have taught recorder on Outschool since 2020.

Learners will practice weekly as much as needed to master the notes and techniques in each song.  For homework, learners will upload a video of themselves to the Outschool classroom playing their current song to obtain teacher approval to move on to the next song.

The teacher will watch student videos to assess a student's mastery of the song they are currently working on playing.  Kind and instructional feedback will be sent on each video.  When a song is approved by the teacher, the student may move on to the next song in the instructional book, "Recorder Karate 1."  Students that master every song in the book will be eligible for the next class using the instructional book, "Recorder Karate 2."
