𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗨𝗽, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗨𝗽, 𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱! Becoming a Reading Detective will give your child the skills and confidence to succeed in reading. Don't wait, get started today! Use code LEARNIPFJG3 to save $3. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Boost your child’s confidence and motivation. Improve their ability to understand and enjoy what they read. Prepare them for school success 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀: Proven strategies to build comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. A nurturing environment where they can thrive. As students transition from learning to read to reading to learn, becoming a reading detective is critical to their reading success. In this course, students will practice reading aloud to improve fluency, expand their vocabulary through context clues, and strengthen their reading comprehension skills. Key focus areas include identifying main ideas and supporting details, making inferences, analyzing characters, exploring figurative language, understanding the author’s purpose, and more. Students are welcome to join at any time, this curriculum is designed for year-long practice. Although we revisit topics multiple times for skill reinforcement, all practice activities are different. This class is highly interactive and encourages active student participation. Each session begins with an introduction to a specific reading comprehension strategy. Following the introduction, we’ll practice the skill together using teacher-provided stories. Students will take turns reading aloud in a round-robin format, engaging with the text and answering questions. Throughout the lesson, we provide guidance on pronunciation, fluency, and effective reading techniques to support student growth. The class uses 2nd-grade reading material and is appropriate for advanced 1st graders, on-level 2nd graders, or 3rd graders needing additional support. H𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 - We teach "Practice Makes Progress"! After each class, we send an email detailing the skill we worked on in class and a home practice worksheet. (Please make sure your class communication is turned on). We do not grade the assignment but the answers will be included for you (the parent or guardian) to assess the student at home as well. 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 – We want to be your learning partner. You will receive communication from us after the first class and at least every third class. In this communication, we will share our observations and suggestions for your student. You are welcome to reach out to us at any time. To make sure you receive the communication, check your Outschool communication settings. The teachers at Achieve Learning Partners are friendly, patient, and encouraging, and meet each student where they are academically. We help our students build the confidence needed to succeed.
