Join 🤠Cowboy Joe the famous Outschool large puppet, Dr. Ruth and all her avatar friends for this exciting Self Paced reading practice class. We will read sentences and short stories with the themes of famous characters such as Mario, Paw Patrol, Minecraft and Pokemon. This class was passionately created by Dr. Ruth with the mindset of ensuring that learners will be able to read along while the stories unfold. There are visual sensory transitions to help the child engage with the class. Great for visual learners, struggling readers and fussy kiddos who shy away from structured reading classes!😆

The age of the student will be no problem as long as the parent or caregiver feels that their child may benefit from the course. Any child of any age is welcome in my class. This class is helpful for children who struggle with reading.

The stories will transition to short video clips showing the various characters in the above popular themes and games. However, keeping in mind that reading is the focus. We will look at key phonograms, rimes and unique words while decoding words as the teacher or helpers read the words and unique names of characters. Little does the learner know that they are being taught to "see" patterns of words while building their reading decoding skills. All while having a grand 'ole time with 🤠Cowboy Joe and friends!⚡

One of the best ways to make reading fun for your early reader is to encourage them to read books that pique their interest. If your child is interested in dinosaurs, find some books about dinosaurs. If they like cars, look for books about cars. Making the book’s content relatable to their interests will help them engage with it more. So that is why I created this class. I want the learner to LOVE to read by having them read topics of interest that they enjoy. This will help them to further their reading skills if they happen to be a bit behind in their reading skills. I will introduce easy passages for those that are at the early stages of reading and progress to the other levels listed:

Kindergarten: A - 4.
1st Grade: 4 - 16.
2nd Grade: 16 - 24.
