This class will begin by reviewing letter sounds and CVC and CVCE blends. We will introduce sight words, work on phonics, and read short stories to help improve our phonics skills. 

Monday will be an introduction of new material and a review of material already learned. Tuesday through Wednesday we will begin class by reviewing material from the previous classes, followed by practicing blending words and recognizing sight words. We will read a short story to improve our reading skills. Thursday we will review everything learned during the week and work on reading comprehension by reading and answering questions about a story. 

Week 1: 
*Introduction and Review CVC and CVCe words.
* List E Sight Words
Week 2: 
*Introduce Bossy "r" rule 
*List E Sight Words
Week 3: 
*Introduce rhyming words
*List F Sight Words
Week 4: 
*Review Bossy "r" and rhyming words
*List F Sight Words

Educational material will be provided each week for practice. Materials will include sight words, vocabulary words, and practice worksheets.
* Weekly Schedule subject to change based on learners' needs.

Hi! My name is Miss Kortnie. I graduated from Southern Utah University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have been teaching for the last 10 years in traditional and non-traditional classrooms. These last couple of years, I have been teaching English to online students. I believe learning should be fun and exciting. Each child is different and unique. Each child learns in a different way.  In my everyday life, I am a mother of 3 boys and a little girl. They are 14 years old, 12 years old, 5 years old, and 2 year old. We love to spend time outdoors playing soccer, baseball, hiking, swimming, camping, and fishing. My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. My favorite color is blue. My favorite candy is peanut M & M's. My favorite ice cream is Moose Tracks. I love teaching. I will be offering classes in reading, spelling, writing, cooking, baking, etc. I look forward to seeing your smiling faces in my classroom.
